Just for Fun
I will always have respect for the art of being scrappy. I love the challenge of creating something from nothing, finding ways to solve a puzzle using only what’s available. Here are a few DIY music videos I made for personal projects, just for fun.
“Yr So Dope” by Hot Pantz!
Hot Pants! is a one-hit-wonder band. We only have one song. We will always only have one song.
This music video was born from an inside joke that went so far it became a reality. The key to producing a no-budget personal project is having a community of creatives who love creating simply for the joy of creating. Team work will always make the dream work.
Concept, storyboard, and song by me. Made in collaboration with Angie Mead and Chris Buddy.
“Better Than Me” by Touched By Ghoul
What to do when you need a music video for a record release but there’s no budget? Throw fake money at the problem! I created this video for my band mid-pandemic when social distancing was still a thing (which meant, no film crews squeezing into tight spaces, only one person in frame at a time.) This felt like the perfect opportunity to lean into a full-on grungy, scrappy aesthetic.
Concept, storyboard, video shoot, stop-motion photography, editing, and money dress construction by me.
