The challenge: Build brand equity while getting customers to switch from competitors like Shutterfly and Snapfish.
The solution: We identified a growing holiday trend on social media of people seeking cards & gifts from “makers,” individuals and small businesses who create handmade items. Recognizing this as a great opportunity to deepen our personal connection with customers, we decided to feature the story behind our unique differentiator: our talented illustrator, Dani Knight, hand-draws and watercolors hundreds of our card & gift designs each year. We wanted customers to know that our photo card collection is crafted by one person, making these designs exclusive to Walgreens. Additionally, we wanted to showcase how easy it is to personalize these cards, with the added benefit that, unlike our competitors, you can have it in your hands that very same day.
